American Rescue Plan funding sought to go to violence reduction

Gun violence prevention leaders want Baltimore City to spend money from the American Rescue Plan on violence-reduction strategies. As part of the national Fund Peace campaign, the groups want commitments from federal, state and city officials to fund community groups that will lead to the charge to reduce gun violence. Chico Tillman, with Fund Peace, spoke Tuesday about programs like Safe Streets, Baltimore Ceasefire and the Roca organization, which focuses on young people at the center of urban violence.
