This rule was drafted before the Corona virus when there were no remote hearings that allowed participants to Audio record hearings! This allows parties to un-robe judges and allows a party to review the impact of what judges say in a hearing! Audio hearings can show how judges act toward litigants and exposes statements made by judges that may not be complementary. It exposes a judges verbal statements See In Re Little 404 U,S. 553, 556 (1972). Audio recordings also allow parties who cannot afford transcribers the right to transcribe their own hearings.
