Recently Junagadh’s ruler made a statement that sent shockwaves throughout India. He asked Pakistan to raise their voice to free Junagadh from India. During Independence, nearly all of the princely state rulers had signed their papers by August 14 and 15. The Nizam of Hyderabad and the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir were among those who did not (Ramahandra Guha, The History of the World's Largest Democracy: India after Gandhi). As a result, disagreements arose. Junagadh was surrounded by three vassal kingdoms. The king of Bantva-Manavadar (also known as Manavadar) joined Pakistan. The kings of the two other principalities (Mangrol and Babariawad), on the other hand, stated that they would join India. As a result, they were unable to overturn their sovereign's decision.
