Many countries in the Indo-Pacific want 'peace and stability'

Liberal MP Andrew Wallace says many countries within the Indo-Pacific share Australia's desire for "peace and stability", which is the reason for the AUKUS arrangement.

"I think we will see a great amount of support for Australia in the, what was going to be the Trans-Pacific Partnership," Mr Wallace told Sky News host Catherine McGregor.

"There are a lot of like-minded countries in the Indo-Pacific who share Australia's values for wanting peace and stability in the region.

"And that's effectively why we've entered into this new trilateral arrangement with the UK and the US.

"It's why we're continuing our discussions at a leadership level, starting tomorrow with the Quad.

"I think that most countries in the Indo-Pacific, in fact, I'm sure that all countries in the Indo-Pacific want to see continued peace and security."
