Summer concerts are a special time for CCB - the band heads outside and into the surrounding community to bring our performances to the world. A frequent and beloved venue for the band is Catonsville’s hidden gem, the Lurman Woodland Theatre, tucked in the woods behind Catonsville High School and nestled into a hillside that gives the audience natural stadium-seating. Likewise, the repertoire for Summer concerts is unique in the year - the band carries some pieces forward from the immediately-prior Spring season, and adds in crowd-pleasing pop, musical-theatre, and film tunes that are fun for all ages.

The Columbia Concert Band is a group of approximately 90 musicians. We rehearse weekly and perform about five concerts per year. Our repertoire consists of many different musical styles, including traditional band arrangements, classical, contemporary, pop/rock, marches, jazz, Broadway, Americana, and baroque.
Founded in 1983, the Columbia Concert Band provides local musicians the opportunity to perform challenging band literature while entertaining the public in the Baltimore and Washington region. The band is affiliated with Howard Community College, which gives credit to students for band participation.
