This episode discusses two decisions passed down by the United States Supreme Court on October 18, 2021, relating to upholding qualified immunity claims against officers who used excessive force in the line of duty. Each of the cases discussed stem from 2016, but they have been adjudicated in the post-2020 and post-Black Lives Matter movements, where excessive force was not only on worldwide display in the death of George Floyd, but also in the rampant abuse against protesters nationwide, making it questionable that when these more recent issues make it to this country's High Court, whether they will shield even the most monstrous acts of brutality, simply by virtue of the individuals perpetuating these atrocities are law enforcement agents? Worse, how can the same issues ongoing in Montana ever hope to be resolved if the national model is so far askew?
