You wake up from your nap. You have no idea how long you were asleep - with no windows in your dark basement room, there's no way to tell. You hear footsteps, and you struggle within yourself over whether you are hoping they bring food - on the one hand, you're starving. On the other, the food is never enough. It's almost worse to eat only a few scraps.
