The Russian invasion of Ukraine has caused several countries, even those outside Europe, to boost their defence spending. Australian has announced plans to expand its uniformed personnel by 18,500 personnel to 80,000 by 2040. Australian PM, Scott Morrison, said that the cost of defence personnel expansion would be around $27 billion.
