4 NATO warships approached the entrance to the Gulf of Finland

At least 4 NATO warships were spotted near the entrance to the Gulf of Finland.

Four NATO warships were spotted near the entrance to the Gulf of Finland. Initially, it was assumed that we were talking about three frigates, however, it later turned out that there was another frigate here.

At the moment, the Avia.pro news agency has information that the frigates HMS Northumberland are located near the entrance to the Gulf of Finland (F238) (UK), HDMS Peter Willemoes(F362) (Denmark), HNLMS De Zeven Provinciën(F802) (Netherlands) and FGS Erfurt F-262 (Germany). The composition of the armament of warships located at the entrance to the Gulf of Finland remains unknown, however, we are mainly talking about air defense and anti-ship systems.

The purpose of the presence in this region of a large grouping of NATO warships of the same type is still unknown, especially since none of the warships is associated with this region. Nevertheless, experts note that the situation clearly resembles an escalation, since a little earlier it became known that NATO and the United States of America intended to significantly "strengthen" the Alliance's eastern flank, however, the appearance of four warships at once near the Russian border can be considered direct confrontation.
