Forgotten Tram Below the Hoover Dam | Destination Adventure

Wherever you travel, there is always a secret to discover and explore, and this episode came with several. I kept a close eye on the weather, and planned a day on the Colorado river that was supposed to be light wind. This has been a hard day to find over the past four months, as it seems the desert is always windy. Throughout our whole day on the river, we felt hardly a gust of wind. It was so nice to spend a day on the water without terrible wind and white caps, and it gave us the opportunity to go ashore and explore some of the history in the canyon. We stopped to visit the Gaugers station, and the cliff side walkway. It was awesome to see it from the water, but getting to walk along it was amazing, like looking back in history. From the gaugers station, we made our way miles up river, to the bottom of the Hoover Dam. You cant get right to the dam, but you get an amazing view of the bridge and you're surrounded entirely by steep rugged cliff walls.

After the Colorado river, we put on a lot of miles and made out way to Lake Tahoe. I had of course heard of Lake Tahoe, but I had no idea how beautiful it truly was. We drove around the entire lake, enjoying new and diverse views all the way. I got my boat inspected and sanitized, then it was time to hit the water. Unfortunately my outboard was acting up for the first time, so we didn't get to see everything we wanted, but all in all it was amazing to get out on the water. This will definitely be a repeat visit for me at some point, but for now it is time to continue north.
