Having just visited Buddha Bodhivana and Bodhisaddha Monasteries, Ajahn Dhammasiha talks about the importance of regular movements and mutual visits in the Sangha.
1. For one's individual Dhamma practice, continuously living in the same place leads to accumulation of possessions and increasing attachments. Moving regualrly reduces these issues
2. For an international sangha like the tradition of Ajahn Chah, regular face to face meetings are crucial to maintain a sense of community in the global sangha
Ajahn also talks about the importance of present moment awareness. Most of our problems tend to be in the past and future. Just by settling into the hear and now most issues are simply gone. In the present moment we can develop the attitude of an uninvolved observer, just watching and trying to wisely understand whatever phenomena arise and pass away.
A bit like a traveller in a foreign country. The attitude of an observer who doesn't have to interfere or manage anything that's happening is one reason that travelling can feel so relaxed and pleasant. However, we have to be careful not to continuously take video and pics, or else we're no longer the observer, but beome actively involved through the act of videoing
In addition to our Youtube videos, we usually publish about 2 new Dhammatalks/GuidedMeditations every week as audio podcast.
