Liverpool could battle city rivals Everton in the bidding for Scotland and Rangers starlet Nathan Patterson.
SunSport reports Jurgen Klopp’s side have been monitoring the progress of right-back Patterson since the start of the year.
And while it is not a priority position for them, who already have England star Trent Alexander-Arnold and the Wales international Neco Williams, they are holding a keen interest in the 19-year-old ace’s development.
Gers boss and Anfield icon Steven Gerrard has branded the Toffees “jokers” after tabling a £5 million offer for the twice-capped academy graduate.
He said: “That’s definitely come out of a joke book, surely. We want to keep our best players, especially our home-grown and local ones.
“He’s not someone we’re looking to move on, but every single person has got a number. But let me tell you now, £5m is so far away it’s unreal.”
Nathan’s made just one appearance this season, impressing in the Premier Sports Cup last-16 victory over Dunfermline, and overall has featured 17 times in first-team matches.
